How to Customize Form Colors in BeeForm
Learn how to customize primary colors, backgrounds, and container colors to match your brand in BeeForm.
- Open BeeForm Designer
- Access Global Theme Settings
- Choose Primary Color
- Set Background Color
- Customize Container Colors
Open BeeForm Designer
In your Google Form, click the Add-ons icon, select BeeForm, and click 🚀 Open App to launch the Designer interface with your form preview.
Access Global Theme Settings
In the Settings Panel on the left, look for the Theme section at or near the top. Click on it to expand and view all color customization options. This is where you set the foundation colors for your entire form.
Choose Primary Color
Click on the Primary Color color picker (usually a colored square or circle). A color palette will appear. You can either choose a color from the palette, enter a specific hex code (like #FF5733), or use the eyedropper tool to match a color from your brand guidelines. This color will be used for buttons, highlights, and accents throughout your form.
Set Background Color
Below the primary color, find the Background Color option. Click the color picker and select a color for the area behind your form container. Light colors (white, cream, light gray) work well for most forms. You can also upload a background image instead of using a solid color.
Customize Container Colors
Scroll down to the Form Container section to set the background color for the box that holds your form questions. This creates visual separation from the background. White or light-colored containers work best on darker backgrounds, and vice versa. Click Save when you're happy with your color scheme.
Tips and Best Practices
- Use colors from your brand guidelines to maintain consistency across all your marketing materials.
- Ensure good contrast between text and background colors for readability - aim for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
- Stick to 2-3 main colors to avoid overwhelming respondents with too many colors.
Common Pitfalls to Avoid
- Don't use very bright or neon colors for large areas - they can cause eye strain.
- Avoid using similar colors for the background and container - they need contrast to be distinguishable.
- Test your color choices on both desktop and mobile devices to ensure they look good everywhere.
